Take a look at this beautiful frame that Donald created. It’s made from curly maple and walnut – custom fitted to a piece of counted cross stitch. Soon you’ll be able to order on-line, but until then, give us a call. We can custom make a frame to fit any project, any size or depth. You can see from the photo how much this beautiful frame does to set off this cross stitch piece which I’m sure will become a treasured family heirloom.

We’ve been doing some pretty creative spiral stairways lately. I’m attaching pictures of a few. One we wrapped
in sheet metal, creating a totally concealed walkway. One we made free floating steps and wrapped the center column with a c-channel to create a DNA strand appearence. Very Cool !!! And There’s a pic of a double spiral. (that’s 2 spirals built on one center column with landings.) This one we had to pick up and drop in from the roof top.

It’s a constant source of amazement to see where JD Stairs will go next. And this week’s wonder, is shelves. Yes, shelves. Got a call and we are creating shelves that will rotate your canned food. And we are creating them to fit in any space and all size cans. The photos will be posted soon and they will be able to be ordered on-line. Another new plus. Good things are always happening here at JD Stairs.

I just learned today that those treads are called ‘live edge’ – the edge looks like a log. The particular wood on these is walnut and they are finished w/clear coat. They are really beautiful. Consider them for your rail – a rustic warm look.

I’m so excited about what’s happening in our shop right now! Donald is creating treads that have an all natural look – the edges look like a log, the wood shows its beautiful natural grain complete w/knots. I can hardly wait to get photos of them up on the web site so you can enjoy them also.

Something to new to add to JD Stair’s long list of products. We got the call, we said yes. That’s how it works around here, and that’s how we’ve grown into new product lines. This job is for food storage and includes a built-in desk along one wall. These are custom made, w/slow closing hinges – very cool and have a nice clean look to them. Watch for photos.

Such beautiful spring days here in Vegas! Structural metal canopies and intricate trellises are the order of the day here at JD Stairs. Again, projects that are expanding our usefulness to the community and our customers.

The power of a thought – when Michael noticed that there was no mention of iron work on our vehicles, we got to work making that right. GM Signs has begun the work of snazzin’ up the trucks. They look great!! Rollin’ billboards for sure! Not only lettering, but a number of our best lookin’ projects in color – all that’s missing now is the logo and phone number.

Thanks to GM Signs, our trucks have a new look. Also thanks to Michael’s question wondering where were the words and photos were on our vehicles indicating that JD Stairs is NOT just a stair company anymore. Now our diverse operations are depicted with some new photos of ironwork and custom woodwork like fireplace mantles.

As the office manager/mom (should that go in a different order?) here at JD Stairs, I’ve noticed such a difference in the work load of the office manager since the beginning of JD Stairs. How we’ve grown! And what a great thing that is – to be experiencing growth in what is a difficult economy for so many. We are so grateful for the work we have and the many wonderful clients that have become our friends. Face-to-face, person-to-person, word of mouth – keeps us going – and we appreciate that.
