The year was 2018. The U.S. Government had just developed "OTIS AI", a completely self-aware robotic elevator control program. However, within days OTIS developed a taste for human flesh and began to devour all those who were too lazy to take the stairs. Millions of lives were lost. President Schwarzenegger sent Jonathan back with one mission: to protect civilization from man-eating elevators by constructing stairs so beautiful, no one would dream of entering a vertical death-chamber again.
